Welcome to Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project, a very small company that brews fun beers for fun people.

We are gypsy brewers: we have no brewing home, but instead rent breweries and go in to brew our beers. Dann Paquette brews all of our beers. Dann has been brewing for 18 years in New England and Europe, but this is his first go-it-alone project. He and his wife Martha draw the artwork and formulate the beers and think up their interesting names. Dann makes the beers, and Martha paints kegs and throws hops and yeast into big tanks whenever she can. Our beers are inspired by times, places, people, ingredients: not so much by styles and categories. So approach them with an open mind, and have fun. Our beers are happy peasants!

We are currently camping our brewing operations at Buzzards Bay Brewing in Westport, MA. We love it there: it's beautiful (as you can see in this photo), and a fabulous brewery. We are very grateful for the opportunity to brew there.

Our flagship beer is Jack D'Or: Jack is the mournful and mystical grain of barley you can see to the right. He is the very soul of beer: nature's magician, creating sugars from starch and bringing together all the Pretty Things to produce the beautiful substance we adore: beer! Unusually, our flagship is a saison: that's a Belgian style of farmhouse beer: unfiltered, unfettered, golden, hoppy and refreshing. Go try some Jack!!!
